MLB for PSP

MLB for Playstation Portable
Players who enjoy EA Sports’ MLB series will be glad to see it come to the PSP with the simply-named MLB. MLB contains many of the same options as the PS2 game MLB 2006, including a variety of teams, players, and stadiums, online play, and full running commentary. While MLB doesn’t offer the franchise mode available in MLB 2006, it does include quickplay, season, and online play. Season mode allows players to create different line ups, move players to the inactive roster and back, sign new players, and set up trades. The game keeps track of over 80 different statistics and keeps a list of which players are eligible for awards each season. For head to head games, MLB offers both local and internet options. Players can view other competitors in the lobby and then issue and accept challenges. MLB also includes full running commentary voiced by San Diego Padres announcer Matt Vasgersian and ESPN analyst Dave Campbell. Gameplay is also very similar to MLB 2006, with players mapping one of four pitches to a different button. The analog stick is used to aim pitches and handle swinging. There are three different difficulty modes, plus a tuning menu where players can fine-tune thirteen different game settings. For players who have been looking for a baseball game on the PSP, MLB is
the game they’ve been waiting for. It has all of the great features the MLB series is known for and makes full use of the PSP’s capabilities.
