Twisted Metal: Head-On for PSP

Head-On
Twisted Metal: Head-On for Playstation Portable
Sony’s TWISTED METAL series is known as being one of the first series to bring car combat to the forefront, and with its PSP release, TWISTED METAL: HEAD-ON, the series shows it still has everything that made it great. The game brings back some favorite vehicles like Mr. Slam, a bulldozer, and Thumper, a pink coupe with a flamethrower. The premise of TWISTED METAL is simple: players pick a driver, select a car, and then try to blow up all the other drivers. There’s no finish line or course to follow; instead, each level is made up of a section of a city. The cars aren’t exactly standard vehicles, either; they come equipped with machine guns, flame throwers, and other weapons. Head-On has over 15 vehicles to select from, although some are locked at the beginning of the game. To get all the available vehicles and courses, players have to complete the tournament mode. This mode follows each of the players as they complete in the TWISTED METAL tournament. There’s also a challenge mode and an endurance mode, plus multiplayer capability. Up to six players can participate via Wi-Fi or the internet. Players have the option to change the game settings and select several different victory conditions, as well. Traditional racing fans might find the game a bit more like a third-person shooter than a racing game, but for fans who like to battle it out using crazy weapons and odd vehicles, TWISTED METAL: HEAD-ON is the perfect game.
